In light of the ongoing economic crisis and increasing pressures on the education sector in the Kurdistan Region, USA Global Human Rights Organization has expressed its full support for the teachers in Sulaymaniyah who have staged peaceful protests demanding their legitimate rights, including the payment of their overdue salaries and the improvement of their living conditions.

In its statement, the organization emphasized that withholding teachers’ salaries is a clear violation of human rights. It highlighted that teachers are the backbone of any society and that ignoring their rightful demands will negatively impact the quality of education and future generations.
USA Global Human Rights Organization has urged the authorities to respect the teachers’ right to peaceful protest, listen to their demands, and implement fair and swift solutions to end their suffering. The organization also warned against any repressive measures or threats against the protesters, affirming that it is closely monitoring the situation and will take the issue to international bodies if the authorities continue to ignore or suppress the movement.
The organization reaffirmed its solidarity with the teachers in Sulaymaniyah, stressing that freedom of expression and the right to demand fundamental rights, such as fair wages, are non-negotiable and must not be marginalized.
